The Complete Yachtmaster 7th edition came out on 17 October 2010. This includes a new chapter on collision avoidance in poor visibility using modern electronics, whilst avoiding potential pitfalls and dangerous misunderstandings. New updates also in the boat-handling and seamanshup sections.

September saw the official launch of  ’Blue Bird – Seven Decades at Sea’. ‘The Boats that Built Britain’ is the flagship programme in a major new season called ‘Sea Fever’ which is looking at the crucial way in which the sea has helped shape our island. My series, produced by Form Films, examines the pivotal boats involved in Britain’s exploration, trade, fishing and defence. I sail on board six charismatic vessels, discover facets of the sea I never imagined, and even take to the water in a skip!
