Overfalls and the passage plan

Planning a passage on a electronic vector chart, it’s vital to zoom well in at any headlands or other pinch points. The nature of the beast is that vital details are often ‘layered out’ by the processor at planning scales. In these images, the zoomed-out chart fails to show the nasty tide rips off the headland that are clearly visible when the chart is examined more closely. The other answer is, of course, to plan on a paper chart, or its raster-scan equivalent. With these, what you see is what you get, so long as you’ve chosen the right scale to start with.
